The $4,000 payment could be due to millions of New Yorkers as soaring prices for groceries, gas and housing, which are already plaguing New Yorkers, could rise even higher, and families have been dealing with theirs too to fight daily expenses.

Low-income people in New York face serious problems due to rising costs of a variety of consumer goods. So this payment could be very beneficial for struggling residents during this challenging time and give them some relief.

According to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, rising inflation is causing New York residents to pay more for their daily expenses, with groceries 8.3% and other basic needs 13.2% higher than the rest of the country.

In New York, the CPI for all urban consumers rose 6.3% year-on-year, more than economists had forecast.

In New York, however, more than 50% of the family in that state are now struggling to pay for their usual household expenses.

what are the details

This new plan is called the Family Security Act 2.0 and was introduced by US Senators Mitt Romney (R-UT), Richard Burr (R-NC) and Steve Daines (R-MT).

Under this newly proposed plan, most parents with children under the age of five would receive a direct monthly payment of $350 (more than $4,000 annually) under this newly proposed plan.

Families can apply for benefits for up to six children annually and choose whether to receive the benefits annually or monthly.

Of New York’s approximately 20.44 million residents, only 37.04% of New York residents have no family, meaning that 62.97% of the population would be eligible for benefits under this program if they had children.

Who is Eligible for the Family Security Act 2.0?

  • Under this proposed plan, your annual income must be $200,000 for individual taxpayers and $400,000 for joint taxpayers.
  • However, the family’s annual income must be at least $10,000 to qualify for this plan. If the family’s annual income is less than $10,000, they receive a benefit based on that amount.
