The New York State Bar Association today announced the launch of a new corporate membership initiative offering a suite of services specifically tailored to the needs of an entire firm, including streamlined access to association resources, enhanced benefits, discounted pricing and more.

In addition, the Association is pleased to announce that Whiteman Osterman & Hanna, the largest law firm in the Capital Region, will be a founding member of this firm-wide initiative.

“The New York State Bar Association’s top priority is to provide the support, resources and advocacy that enable members to meet the challenges presented in our rapidly changing legal profession and have their voice in the halls of power in the community across the state and in Washington, DC,” said NYSBA President Sherry Levin Wallach. “We are always looking for ways to enhance our offering to serve more attorneys, and membership in a firm provides a unique opportunity to achieve that goal.”

Corporate membership benefits include discounted pricing for an all-access pass to the association’s robust catalog of on-demand CLE programs, covering a wide range of relevant topics in diverse areas of interest. In addition, business leaders have the opportunity to join industry experts in presenting CLE courses to raise the profile of their organizations.

“The NYSBA corporate membership model not only provides our attorneys with easy access to world-class professional development, but also allows our attorneys and the firm the opportunity to build our professional reputation as experts in the field by joining prestigious speaker panels,” said Robert Schofield, Managing Partner at Whiteman Osterman & Hanna. “Our company has long had a strong association with the NYSBA and this new model is a welcome new asset.”

“The management tools provided make it easy to manage our NYSBA membership,” said Jeff Hamilton, COO of Whiteman Osterman and Hanna. “Centralized billing saves time and hassle, while monthly CLE reports help us track attorney loans easily.”

Other benefits of the corporate membership program include:

  • Thought leadership opportunities in association publications
  • Contribute to and participate in advocacy for the association on important policy and legislative changes affecting attorneys
  • Reduced rates for membership fees and professional development
  • Group billing to reduce administrative effort
